headgasket leak

I have oil leaking from the headgasket between cylinders 3&4 how long can i drive it this way?

This is truely luck of the draw..   Sometimes you can run quite a while with it only leaking oil, other times it isn't long until you have over heating problems and/or oil in the coolant.. Do you have any idea of the age or milage on the head gasket??  Typically this is how a gasket deteriorating from age begins to go..    Keep a very close eye on your engine temp and oil level, as well as for signs of oil in the coolant if you plan to run it any lenght of time..

ok cool i think im going replace the head gasket. I cant tell how many holes or notchs it has. Its a 1992 turbo eco diesel, does anyone know which one i should be using? thanks

Read up. Changing the headgasket gone wrong had cost a lot of people a lot of money over the years. It is easy to do a HG wrong and not time the engine correctly and ruin valves and the head if bad enough. The notches are in the head gasket in front by the oil hump on the head.
