Problem solve! timing is too much forward... I guess
« on: November 23, 2009, 09:47:02 pm »
Hello folks, i would like to tell my experience as it can be useful for others. Golf 95 1.9td with ac. 366000kms. I had black smoke and i was burning oil and coolant (1 litre per 300 km). I changed the head gasket and t-belt and oil and coolant finally get solve. Other problem,: persistant black smoke on acceleration. So i suspected many things and the only way to solve it was to hook the waste gate open on my t3 kkk turbo. Result: no power over 2800 rpm, clicking sound from injectors, white smoke and poor mileage. I was about to rebuilt my Ip, and redo the whole head gasket job. I was a bit too far... Today, i've decided to talk to an injection specialist for diesel trucks and told me that the main problem was the timing being too much forward and probably 1 or 2 worn injectors. This is to say that diesels needs special care with the injection and timing and there is no need to search too deep for a problem that can be easily solve.

I am finally gonna get this pump timed tomorrow and injectors rebuilt and hope it will solve the problem. I really hope!

I would like to thank everyone who helped me in this engine rebuilt and tell you i will write back with the timing done and the results.

AAZ for life!
