I'd Love to find an Golf Shell in good shape to rebuild, But since I'm on the Salty Coast

I don't think I'll find one, So I got to learn to get handy with a Mig lol
im on the west coast, and it rains and rains, and rains here. but we never see rust like that. they rust out on top before the bottom rusts out. but we get no salt on our roads. and like Bryan said, we get to see all the cars in the wreckin yards piled up from a drunk or something.
So I went up to the shop the other morning.... And this is what I saw.... :'(
My Poor Little Golf,

And my dad's truck( Fixed it Kim

)
well Cat, there is more coming. So you better stock up on some beer for the big storm, I'm sure your honey will need some more booze too.
Picked up some Baylees on the way home
So I started preping the Golf to swap motors so I have a better running one ti'll i get the new one built up...I'm getting too good at taking MK3s apart...you remove 12 bolts and 6 screws 4 clips and 2 wires and you end with this

:

Takin the old AAZ out tomorrow and putting a low mileage one in.
Any progress on this build?
i remember posting a thread about a guy who put ford escort 1.8 pistons in an aaz for a bigger bore, it was like a 2.2 or 2.1 liter aaz
Any progress on this build?
Not Much, I'm still in the middle of swapping motor so I have a reliable one in the car while i'm building up one. November is coming to an end so my car is off the road ti'll April (seasonal car). I haven't been working much on the car lately. I will get the motor in and car running by the end of this week...Just so I can move it from the garage to the storage thingy lol.
