I was always told that all VW reman heads were TD spec. Initially, the NA and TD heads were different- either casting, valves, or both, but all factory reman heads are supposedly the same.
I don't know that for sure, just going on what I've read.

I read that the TD heads and exhaust valves were a slightly different metal than the NA's so I don't see how they could change the heads metal without completely melting it down and starting over

'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.
I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.
