garage sale from 80 rabbit trades are good
« on: November 18, 2009, 01:26:15 am »
I am currently getting help to build a 1.5 rotating assy 1.6td bottom ending big breathing 1.9 heading BEAST! I have the bottom end all lined up and have found a reasonable price on the aaz head.  Total is 700USD plus I will need to have money for the head gasket, turbo, mani, piping, re-ring kit "for the 1.5 bottom end" intercooler, etc. ........ and the list goes on this will be my car for when I sell my 06' suzuki reno with 36k miles on it "YES!, it is for sale" I have an entire straight exhaust al ready for it to replace the old/original so now for the goodies "pictures will come folks, I promise" all reasonable offers will be accepted as well as trades etc."  This car is an 80 rabbit with 250000 on the odo and I am only the third owner "gasket gave up the ghost" the engine save the rotating assy are up for grabs, as well as a 1.6 turbo rotating assy that I don't need from the block.  Pretty much everything under the hood is for sale save the stuff I need for the swap "ask and ye shall recieve" the entire exhaust "no holes, cali car ;D"  I also have a 78 mk1 rabbit that I am shelling completely out to put in a 24v vr6 mid engine and roll cage project build so everything goes except the actual car "pretty much" carpet, interior, "burgundy, and YES to answer your next question the dash is cracked"  so if you need anything from that I am willing to part with all but what I will need for the swap there as well.  I also still have an t61 brand new greddy T/C up for sale new they go for like 1200 so use good judgement.  Realistically trades are the best bet because everyone is property rich and cash poor right now and I need stuff that some of yous guys have.  If I have to trade Joey to trade with Mike to get the widget thach Charley has, I can do that too "I am from mountain country VA"  Locals are welcome to visit and are encouraged to do so to look/ see call me, I DO NOT HAVE TEXT!!! >:(   or you can e-mail for more details [email protected] this is an awesome opportunity to get something nice for a great price/ trade  I also repair xbox360's and have about five that I need to get rid of as well as a plethora of old computer hardware "I even have an old 486 I was going to use as a honeypot/ home protection"  Lastly the names Kevin, please call me Kevin when corresponding "being in the armed forces forces me and others to use my last name"  It is quite refreshing to have someone call me by my birth name.  I will update this thread so stay tuned and happy hunting.

God Bless,

Kevin

you know, decarbonated beer is a better coolant than the stuff you buy at the auto store, and is better for you...... really

You don't need a new mobo but if you are really looking to fix it check this out www.llama.com and look at the xbox 360 repair section read up on it your gpu has become unsoldered and you need to overheat and reset it into place using pressure and an updated gpu cooler the penny trick is crap pennies are copper coated zinc and therefore suck at transferring heat.  The stock heat pads work good enough and don't need to be replaced.  These things are pretty solid just a poor design in the original gpu heatsink firstly they werent heat treated against warping second the thermal paste is absolute junk "GET SOME ARCTIC SILVER FIVE FROM NEWEGG" and the last part was they just didn't care about the failures and did not immediately follow up with an appropriate repair.  the thing is totally fixable and rearely do I see one that is too far gone to fix that has RROD.

Good Luck,

Kevin
