MKII Jetta Manual Steering- MK II Scirocco U-Joint Fit?
« on: November 17, 2009, 07:37:41 am »
One of these days I am probably going to convert my 91 Mk II Jetta to manual steering.  I already have a Mk I rack lying around.  I was in the junkyard the other day (more of a recon mission, as I was there after work in my good clothes) and there was a Mk II Scirocco and the steering u-joint was just lying there as someone had taken the rack. So I grabbed it for $5- I can always return it.

Anyone know if it will work? It will fit the rack I have with some work (need to remove some of the splines), but is it the correct length for the Jetta?

i doubt you are going to get an A1 rack n pinion to fit in your A2. have you even looked at all the different parts under the A2 car?  they dont even mount in the same place... A1's mount to the body, A2's mount to the K frame.
