Boost Gauge Fittings on KKK Turbo
« on: November 16, 2009, 10:17:11 am »
I am hooking up a boost gauge to my 1.6TD and need some help.  There is a threaded hole on the side of the aluminum blower housing on my turbo.  Is this where the boost gauge goes?  If so, Does anyone know what the thread size is?  I got a gauge, but it didn't come with the tubing kit.  Any tips on where to get the tubing and fittings?

Thanks so much

The fitting on the turbo is for the wastegate. Most people tee into the line between the intake manifold and the pump LDA.

im really not trying to be rude here, but instead of telling people where they can buy parts, why dont you try helping them out from time to time. you remind me of that annoying parts counter person that always trys to sell me something i dont need. the quick change oil valve for 4.5 quarts of oil, buying a boost controller, all of witch are completely un-necessary on a diesel. all of us on here would probably rather make our own boost controller since it can be done for under 5 dollars and work like a 500 dollar unit. you know where to find stuff, thats for sure, but most people want to know how to fix what they have, not where to get parts for it. im sure 99% of the users on here are just as broke as i am, and are looking to split pennies, not spend them.

like i said earlier, please dont take offense to it, just most of us are lookin for answers, not gimmicks.

There is always two ways to do something...

I wanted a good gauge with the correct fittings for my install, I had to drill and tap the intake and manifold to use a aircraft quality gauge.

Mcnally provided a install kit ( drill & tap)and it saved me alot of time...

I did add there other gauges for my center console, I know few are going to spend 750.00 for three gauges

This site has been kind to me and has answered many questions, I mfg aircraft products and have been in business nineteen years.

You have now idea what a bargain stuff is for the MK1 caddys until you own a 997TT Porsche

If I cant find what Iam looking for, than  I know several people that can have it made to the highest quality, you get what you pay for and my time is money

I have finished making the rear bump stops for the caddy , tailgate bumpers all parts that are no longer made...

Next : intake manifold duct ( turbo to intake )1.75 to 1.50 90 elbow

Need something made , let me know

I Love this Site, There is so much great info to find here, especially for someone as ignorant about turbos as I am.

I have figured out where to put my boost gauge, and what the tapped holes on the blower and the wastegate are for.  No I just need to find the right fittings and hose to connect the two.

As far as I can tell, the holes are both 8mmx1 is this correct?  What sort of fitting goes in here, and where can I get it.  I have checked every industrial supply place in the area with no luck.

thanks so much
