What engine did that pump come on the 406?
I thought the 2.1 engine was a lucas pump?
Any 406 pumps ive opened have been 9mm heads and theyve all been off the 1.9 turbo diesel.

it came of 406 1.9td on a 99 ,your right the 2.1 are lucas pumps but there is a chance some one had got at the 1.9 pump as it was scraped because it would not get through the emissions test but they do use three different pumps on the 1.9s xud212 xud bpo2 and the xud which is a lucas pump. The solenoid on the side off the pump did go to a small ecu but don't that take its signal of the CTS sensor to adjust the advance on cold starting? or do they use MAPS+road speed sensors as i am certain it did not have a air flow meter on it and would have thought it would need them in conjunction with a crank angle sensor to have a effective electronic dynamic advance system?I know the late aaz pumps had a type of electronic control but they had a start of injection censor like on the TDIs,{ where you would screw your dti gauge in on the idi pump }but it did not have one of them on the pug pump

looking at the wiring diagrams for the 406 the pump i had of the scraper could not have been the original pump as they show three plugs not including the immobilizer/fuel shut of obviously the reason it was scraped so do not know what its of but its 10mm :-\ only used the head in the end on a 405 body

I did the same with a 406 pump i had (9mm).
I had a citroen xsara 1.9 pump with bad internals so used the casing (no solenoid) and the good 9mm internals of the 406 and job done.
Ive now got an 11mm head from a transit set to go back on soon as i had a few teething problems.

sorry this is an old thread but how can i tell which turbo my aaz engine has as stock, as i think im going to stick with it either way, i have fitted the mk2 intercooler and am sticking with that to as i want a propper factory look under the bay, I think i would be happy with 110 bhp any how as this aint a race car its my daily!

there should be a ID plate on the cold side{compressor} but what ever turbo it is as long as it is working ok it should be ok for 110bhp but you may struggle with a stock aaz pump

Whats different with Peugeot pumps? 150hp from governormodded&pinned AAZ pump is no problem.

MJF - different pump noses i think so maybe wouldnt fit without mods.(never seen a vw pump in real life though)
Internals should be similar though so id expect the same performance. Peugeot pump has the good aneroid pin as well.

Do yourself a favor and get giles to mod a pump for you...wtih the upgraded turbo, IC and bigger straight piped exhaust you will enjoy your daily driver ALOT more! (BTW techtonics tuning make great DP's and exhausts)
My daily driver has one (45,000 kms since install) and i love every minute of every drive..... i still have the stock tape deck! Its that good to listen to the sound this makes anytime its over 10psi.

if you're swappen turbos anyways you should think about a ball bearing setup.
