WTB - Mk 2 Diesel Golf or Rabbit
« on: November 07, 2009, 11:08:40 pm »
Ok folks, I'm looking for a Mk 2 Golf or Rabbit, diesel of course. It must have a good body and at least a marginal interior. Preferably if the engine is toast, it would be ok since I got 2 1.6 TD blocks here. So if your old diesel took a dump or has a lot of miles and is getting tired, here's someone willing to take it off your hands.  ;D

So basically, it must have a good body, ok interior and a so so engine. Let me know what you have.

I'm missing my old Mk2 Jetta and its wonderful clatter at idle and unfortunately it has gotten too rusty, so hence looking for another. That and I want a second vehicle I can drive in the winter and to assure that I can get to NAIT on the days they want me there. Car must be in Alberta or very close to the BC or Sask. border. No US cars, as I don't want the paperwork headache. I'm able to trailer/tow dolly the car back, so it's all good.

Thanks!  8)

Hmmm, that begs the question, how much are you asking for and what condition is the body in? Pictures?

I havent really figured out range for it, just been thinking of selling it for the last couple of weeks, ill try and get some pictures soon. the body is in pretty good shape, there's minimal surface rust around the rear quarters, some rust around the windshield.

Well if you do figure out a price and get pics, let me know.  :)  I do kinda want a Rabbit.  :P How much rust exactly is around the windshield? If it's not too deep it's not too much of a problem.

I should also mention that I'm most likely going to be heading down to Calgary next Saturday, so maybe I could swing by and take a look some time in the evening?

Bump! Still looking. I'd prefer a Golf, but Rabbits are still ok.  :)

Sawedoffgolf, you still need to contact me with those pics...
