How difficult is it to switch out a 1.9TDI for a 1.6 N/A ?

Considering a unique vehicle that has a 1.6 N/A in it. Would like to upgrade the power to a 1.6 TD or a 1.9 TDI. I have heard that you can put in a 1.9 without all of the electronics, using a different setup for the pump. Is this very hard to swap over? Any suggestions appreciated.

if its a mk1, then you'll need the mk1 passenger side mount.  it's been done before with the ALH so you should be good to go!

You just need to mod the passenger side engine mount and belt cover mounting plate so that it doesn't rub the timing belt, IM shaft wheel, etc.
