Hi guys, i am about to take off my injectors with a visegrip and was wondering, before i make a mess, what size of socket will fit to take those out properly.

its a VERY DEEP 27mm I think.

I have, when the socket was unavailable and I needed to get the injectors out pronto, used a big crescent with success.

I would heavily advise against using vice grips.

you could also use a 27mm open end wrench

true, but who has one of those?

if you are going to buy a wrench for the injectors, you might as well get a socket so you can use a torque wrench for installing them again.

I already try a 27 impact but too short..

it may be hard to find a socket deep enough, many people have purchased a cheap socket, cut it in half and welded a piece of pipe in to make an extra deep socket.

if you can find a really deep one though, that is the best option.

SEARS... Their 27mm deep 1/2" drive fits nicely. You have to experiment a little with it, for some reason it fits better in one position, where it does not interfere with the fuel return nipples.

It is extremely difficult to find a socket with enough deep clearance inside to fit over the 2 stage injectors. The sockets at Sears (here in Vancouver, anyway) are now just the same old cheap stuff you find anywhere else, don't work.

I finally found one that works - it is a Wright tools 1 and 1/16" deep socket (fits 27 mm perfectly), the flutes run all the way to the bottom of the socket and will fit over the long injectors. I got it at The Tool Place in Kamloops. Try finding somewhere that carries Wright tools, the model stamped on the side is #4634, maybe that will help you find one, good luck.
