I seen these subs made by this brand, they sound really good and apparently available on eBay for a good price, how to these compare to mtx, rockford, alpine, jl and so on.. Haven't even heard about them before.
MTX is just cheap Bass. Alpine and JL are higher quality subs that would have more of crisp sound. If your looking for a good sub i would look into Kickers
Right now I got 2 10" older round Sony xplod's that actually pump pretty good not gunna lie. Never really cared too much for Sony subs but they were free. Looking for something newer. Volfenhag looks to be of good quality, German, and would go nice with a blaupunkt hu.
have you checked out epinion dot com?
Everything I have heard about them says they are typical cheap junk.
I am a car audio brand (*Jerk*) though.
Sub wise, I am always Kicker Competition.
Amps: Soundstream Reference (pre-2000) or US amps (Old school too)
Right now,
I have 2 (mid 90's era) Kicker comps in a sealed box (1.4 per side)
with a Soundstream Reference 405s pushing it all.
I bought the subs on CraigsList for $40.

Im all about JL audio subs with old skool amps for power...
all subs make bass. most do a good job, but not all of them make nice clean sounding bass.
if you can get something like a 24 million watt sub for 24 dollars, that does not make it good.
i paid a little under 300 bucks for my W3 JL 12's. and before that i had a set of W6 JL 10's.
JL's friggen rock if you can get some nice clean power going to them.
im way way partial to old school power too. Rockford fosgate Power series amps are some of the best amps ive ever owned. small amps with HUGE power. my favorite amp tho, was my Kicker ZR 360. it had some nutz.. way more than 360 watts. it would outperform my 1200 watt pioneer premier with ease.
my last stereo i had that was any good had 3 JL W3 subs. two 12's and a 15. the 12's had about 1100 watts going to them, and the 15 had about 900. lets just say there wasnt enough music to go with all the bass and rattles.
Kicker Competition.
Same. Great products and great prices.
If you are using Sony Xplodes then this volfenhag brand should be a good upgrade.
