DI camplate on IDI engine
« on: October 01, 2009, 03:17:36 pm »
Hello people,

Are there any advatages to be had from running my larger 11mm head, with a DI camplate... Would it inject a larger ammount of total fuel? Any other advantages....

If so, will any camplate work, as in could i use the one from my sherpa donor pump, or are they all shaped differently....

Any advice appreciatied really, as im really struggling to get enough fuel in at the moment!

I'm no expert by any means, but I would think a DI camplate wouldn't do anything particularly useful on an IDI, much like how you can't really run a DI using an IDI camplate...

I haven't had any experience with it but I've read that it's too "sharp" of an injection for an IDI, so it'll run real clacky. :)
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.
