audi 1z auto tdi will it run on an ecu off a manual 1z

ive just be offered an audi a4 tdi auto but it has no ecu,keys.i have got a manual wiring ecu ect will it run with the auto.i believe the auto ran a 11mm pump bigger injectors would the manual ect run on this and what sort of power would it make?

I can't speak for vw deez specifically here, but I know that BMW auto/manual trans setups differ in that the auto wiring harnesses have a separate set of connections that tie into auto transmissions that the stick harnesses do not.  Auto ECUs also have different programming; but an engine that was originally automatic can easily be mated with a manual ECU and wiring harness...

You should be able to code the manual ECU to work with the auto, and just plug it straight in. You'll obviously have to get a key coded for it by Audi, so if you are friendly with your dealership they ought to be able to recode for the auto at the same time as doing the immobiliser
