Audi 5000 TD vs. Volvo D24T Lifter Question?

Hi, I know this is a long shot, but does anybody know if the Audi 5000 TD and Volvo D24T lifters are the same? I need some new lifters, and AutohausAZ lists them for only $9 each for the D24T. This website doesn't have any part numbers or prices listed for the Audi 2.0 TD. I would assume they're the same since they are very similar engines, but I just want to make sure. If anyone has a Volvo lifter they can take measurements of, I can measure the ones in my old head and we can compare notes. Thanks.

The D24 is a Volks based motor. the DE is a VW/Audi engine. they are both based off a 1.6 diesel. just get some 1.6 lifters.
one thing to remamber. if it is a hydraulic headed D24, nothing will work in the DE. the 2.0's were mechanical headed. i dont know for sure if the 2.4 was or not. i know 1.6 lifters will swap in your 5k engine.

Will a D24 head work on the 5000?

No, the D24 is a 6 cylinder, the 5000 is a 5 cylinder.

if you need a head, it probably wouldnt take me much to be talked into parting with my head off my 2.0. its starting to be a *** to me.

I´ve checked on a local engine overhaul site it does not say anything about 2,0 td but it fits almost all other vw/ audi applications and at 9 dollars what can go wrong....

oh, everything. its just giving me the finger. some mornings it starts cold with a tiny bit of ether. some mornings you cant ether it enough to run. some days it over heats with the fan on, some days it wont overheat period, even if its hot out. i get between 12 and 20 psi of boost before the boost controller opens the WG. oh yea, it ONLY burns 1 qt of oil every 50-100 miles. none of the lights work. this car is just a serious mass of problems.

Just pull the engine, rebuild it and make the most kick @s$ 924 ever... Then if you have a leather interior ship it to me

I agree. Put it in a 924 and run it out at Bonneville.
Colectb, FYI, the seats out of the type 44 cars will fit in a type 43. I put the leather seats (front and back) from an '86 5000 QT into my '83 TD no problem. The only thing is the power seat controls on the door will no longer work. Just use the controls on the sides of the seats.

mines even worse. its gold, outside, and brown on brown checker inside. its about hideous. i think my audi needs a truck bed. and a truck cab. and 4 wheel drive. 2.0 diesel, meet my toyota pickup...

That's funny. The Gold/Brown color combination is my favorite of all type 43s, as long as it's clean.
