Pushing water out of reservoir, and vibration in cab

First I have a pretty good engine vibration in the cab at idle in one caddy(other caddy TD new motor mount on IP side of engine, no vibration) wondering how to check motor mounts in caddies?
Second the TD engine pushes water out the resevoir after warming up. Sam e thing happened in the N/A caddy(had copper rad) replaced rad with alum one no more problems. Can rad blockage cause this? Can they be flushed or should they be rodded? Temp is 180-190 at top rad hose at rad top other side of rad 85. This is a alum. rad though. 192 at water pump(bottom hose)
Thanks

copper rads clog up nicely, and usually, when they clog, they dont unclog that easy.

Copper radiators can be "Rodded out" but finding a place that actually does it is hard anymore.
Replacement radiators have become so cheep it's usually less money to replace the darn thing.

i'd definitely look into a head gasket or cracked head if its running rough

Running great! Hate to pull the head off if its another problem. Guess I could swap rads again. What about the vibration?

Check the over-flow return hose to the overflow tank. Make sure it's blowing freely.
Also check and make sure your rad fan is kicking in properly, or that your fan even works. If you let the vehicle sit and idle for about 20 min, the fan should kick on.
Having said that, I think you have a blown HG. The vibration is caused by uneven compression in the cylinders. I'd surmise that the #2 and #3 cylinders are blown. They move as a pair (as to #1 and #4), and can cause loping in the crank. While #1 and #4 paired together could cause it, the likelihood that they blew in conjunction is slim.

i was having the same problem with mine. overheating way fast and puking out the reservoir like crazy. my headgasket was blown in a couple of places from what I could see. I'm kinda in the same boat wondering if it is the radiator or not. For 50 bucks shipped, I got the headgasket, bolts, a spare fuel filter, an oil filter, the valve cover gasket (and two washers worth 60 cents to get free shipping

). not a bad deal for having a new headgasket in there imo. but anywho, i'll let ya know if the hg cured the problem. good luck

Still playing with it. But the vibration is not in the same vehicle. This was overheating sway a rad, now okay. But the vibration feels like it has solid mounts(dash vibrations, steering wheel) hit the throttle, smooths out. Other truck new IP side motor mount no problem.

Took the head off today. Gasket doesn't look bad. Cracks betwwen every valve but I can't put a fingernail in any. Can't see any evidence why its pressurizing the coolant system.

ALot of times when the engine forces coolant out of the overflow, it's due to a clogged overflow hose. Check the hose between the top of the rad and the overflow tank. Blow through it and see that it's free. Also check the nipple on the overflow tank for debris. I've seen bits of silicone clog the nipple and cause overflow, but no blown head gasket.
Also, since your truck has a TD motor, it it possible that someone used the MK2 TD/NA radiator hose. It has a main hose that goes from the top of the radiator to the top/front of the head. That hose has a split in the middle where the smaller return line goes to the overflow tank. Those hoses had a restrictor in the hose right near the overflow tank. You should see a bulge in the hose near the overflow nipple (looks like a snake digesting a mouse). Those restrictors are prone to clogging. You can drill out the restrictor and completely remove it without any concerns for the motor. Just make sure you get all the pieces out.
As for the vibration, if you haven't replaced the motor mount, it's the logical place to start.

This is a Quantum engine so all the hoses are new. I could see coolant flowing from the top of the Rad(sm.1/4" hose) into the overflow tank. It acted like a 350 I had once, rev the engine let off and water would fountain out of the Rad. fill. Cracked head on the 350. But now I have the head off I don't see anything pointing to any problem. I'm headed to a machine shop to have them look at the head.

Sounds like a plan. Any runout over about .005 is gonna require heat treatment to straighten it out, or a line bore of the cam journals to clear up any warp up in the top of the head.
Good luck.
