Found a 1982 Pug 505 TboDzl 4door.
Solid and running car.
Right now i'm scared to death to call the guy because afraid i'll go buy it on impulse.
What size engine would that be cylinders and litres ?
Is it a VW engine ?
If not - is anything drivetrain related interchangeable with VW ?
Where are Pugs made ?
Are mechanical parts still easily and readily available ?
The only issue with it right now is supposed to be it needs master cylinder rebuilt - rear brakes no worko.

I don't know a lwhole lot about Pugs, but I almost bought a 504 diesel at one point- pretty car.
1)I think the engine size is around 2.2 or 2.4 liters
2)No- made by Peugeot
3)Nope, not even close
4)FRANCE!
5)Anything can be had for a price
I am sure there are forums, and places to buy parts, but they will be scarce. My impression is that the engines are very good- almost as good as Mercedes and better than VW, but that the rest of the car is, well, French. So as long as you have alternate transportation and fairly deep pockets...dive in. For example, IIRC they don't use Bosch IPs, but some French mfg.

1. If it's the TD engine, then it's a 4 banger 2.3 l engine, 80, 95 or 110 horsepower (depending on the year, the later, the better).
2. No. Peugeot built their own engines (505 Ti used a Chrysler engine, though). PSA diesel engines gained a solid reputation in Europe (Citroen and Peugeot diesel powered cars are seen everywhere).
3. Don't think so. Maybe some inyection system parts, not sure about that, though.
4. Sochaux, France. But it was produced as well in Chile, China, Indonesia and Nigeria.
5. It still can be seen nowadays in Africa (Peugeot has a strong reputation), and I've seen 505 parts in ebay USA, so yes.

Thank you VERY MUCH gentlemen :thumbs up:
I'm gonna have to pass on this one. Was hoping it had some (lots) VW compatible pieces under the hood at minimum.
It can be bought for under $800. Like maybe $500-600 if he still has it.
Blue/Blue with automatic tranny.

if you want something that takes VW parts, you get a vw, or an audi, or a BMW turbo diesel, or a volvo turbo diesel.

Yes BMW has a 6 clylinder IDI TD engine. I can't remember what it's called though. There was one for sale on here a few months back.
On an unrelated note, if you have a chance to test drive the new BMW 335D I'd highly recommend it. As much as I hate turbos (and this car has 2 of them) all I can say is VROOOOOM
