someone do me a big favor here and tell me you have the funky oddball allen head fastener and the BUSHING that secures the timing belt side of the AC compressor pivot ear on a MK1 diesel. mine is missing and I don't have another. now I know this is a pain in the butt but if someone knows what I'm talking about and has one they can mail me I sure would appreciate it. I have a huge pile of oddball parts if you have this part and need some odd item yourself. Thanks for looking.
You're looking for the long thin(5/16) bolt with allen head? I go to the pick n pull every week, I'll check. I have several on my vehicles. Is it used on later engines as well?

The bushing is EXTREMELY hard to find. In parting about 1 dozen motors with AC, I have ONE bushing that I'm saving to make templates.
Good luck there.
P.S. I think I tried the dealer on that, and it's NLA

it's only on Mk1 diesel cars with AC. if you find one pocket it and I'll give you 5 bucks for it.
hmmm...if the allen head on the timing belt side is 8mm I wonder if 5/16" tubing could be used as a bushing? Talk to me Dr. Doom sound like a winner?
Bushing specs:
ID: 21/64in or 0.328in or 8.33mm
OD: 25/64in or 0.392in or 9.95mm
Length: 35/64in or 0.552in or 14mm
I can find a bushing with the correct outer diameter, but nothing seems to have the small inner diameter. Looks like it was cut with a pipe cutter, so maybe some pipe?
Well if it has the correct OD that would be a lot better than nothing that's for sure. If it has a little play around the allen head fastener that's not a big deal.
