WTB: 1983/1984 Jetta/Rabbit Turbo Diesel Timing Cover.....

I need a couple pieces that are specific to the 1.6L TD motor that came in 1983 and 1984 Jettas, and a few rare Rabbits.

- Upper Timing Belt Cover
- Airbox
- Fuel Filter Mount

Unfortunetly 1985 and later parts won't work.

EDIT: A cover from any 1.6L diesel motor (non-A/C) in any mkI could also work. doesn't have to be from a turbo car. Should be part number: 068 109 121 C

I have the following covers I can trade if you need one:
068 109 121 A - A1 1.5 and 1.6 diesels with A/C
067 109 123 G - A2 1.6 diesel (NA or turbo)

Is the A1  TD timing belt cover different than the NA unit?  What are the differences?  Mine didn't come with one and I was planning to use one off of an NA...

Any A1 1.6 diesel without A/C timing belt cover should work.

A1 and A2 Diesel upper timing belt covers:
068 109 121 - A1 1.5 diesel without A/C
068 109 121 A - A1 1.5 and 1.6 diesels with A/C
068 109 121 C - A1 1.6 diesel (NA or turbo) without A/C
067 109 123 G - A2 1.6 diesel (NA or turbo)

maybe i'll have to look into this more.

it didnt make sense to me either that an NA cover wouldn't work... but i tried one, with no luck. bolt holes didnt quite match up and i didn't want to jimmy something so critical.

now that i think about it... the covers i've tried have been from a 1.5L diesel WITH a/c..., a 1.6L TD from a mkII, and a bunch from 8v gassers. no good fitment so far. is it as simple as finding an NA 1.6L mkI cover??  :lol:

does anyone local have one of those i could try? i should have snagged scully's for a test fit at the meet when she wasn't looking  :lol:

thanks for the offer justin. i can likely find one locally very easily now that i realize any mkI diesel non-AC cover will work  :roll:

thanks again for your insight jake. i confirmed part # 068 109 121 C with the dealer parts dept for a 1983 Jetta Turbo Diesel. it all matches up.
