what temperature thermostat for 1.6 diesel?

80 or 87 degrees? opinions with reasons please.


Look, if corn and kudzu fall in love and have a baby in a lab under the supervision of scientists working in my employ, WHO AM I TO STOP THAT other than the CEO responsible for stopping it???

Considering your location, if you're using this car in winter you may want to opt for the warmer one, better heat and efficiency..   If it's a summer driver only, or if you were way down south the cooler stat would probably be fine...

I am running a 90C (195F) T stat in the 92 Ecodiesel. On the hottest days this summer (95F or so), the temp gauge stays in the same spot which is a bit above the middle. Before I put the 90C stat in, the temp gauge was midway between the 3/4 and max mark due to a T stat that wouldn't open.
