It actually should be #7, unless that adjustment is maxed out, then you would use # 8

Ooops, of course it's #7, then #8 and the other right next to it if you need to lower it more.

The cold start lever only affects idle speed, not timing so it's safe to back them out. I had to back out #8 completely on my tweaked Passat.

i remember that when i messed with screw number 8 on the gtd i could pull the cold start lever and it wont do nothing...

and why i could lower the idle on the stop screw on the gtd?could the lever be on a bad position?

the idle screws on AAZ pumps and GTD pumps are not the same. they adjust differently, go back a few posts and read, you will see what they mean.

they are on the same side of the pump, but not in the same location, and definitely dont adjust the same.

Later model 1.6 pumps also have those extra adjustments. They are the cream of the cream in the high performance pump tuning world
