will the TD trans from a later golf mk2 ( like 89ish) have 90mm flanges or 100mm ones?
as far as i know only the GTI/GLI mk2s had 100 mm ones...
anyone know?
It is my understanding that all of the various diesel transmissions got 90mm flanges. Only the 100+ hp engines had 100mm flanges, or at least that's what the scirocco gearing site claims?
thats a good rule of thumb, but still there are some freak variations.

well i know I have a mk2 gli, and it has 90mm flanges. i think anything with eight valves is going to have 90, and anything with 16 ended up with 100mm.
my jetta GL was a digi1 8v and it had 100mm flanges. see where we are going with this? there is no rule with tranny flanges. they are the most random thing ever it seems like. "here hans, take this GTI trans and put it in this jetta since we are out of light duty 90mm transmissions.
