So on the way home...the gf spots a little MK3 for sale...so i swing in to look at it, 97 MK3 5speed, 1.9AAZ, 353,000km on it, AC and cruise. it said to call and make an offer. I offered 700$ too Low? it needs floor and rocker work...and an exhaust.

not low at all... depending on how the current owner has taken care of it. AFAIK the 97's all have the crank nose update, which is good, though having the one way clutched alternator pulley would be good insurance. if the engine runs like a champ, then its worth more in the 2500 range.

Found a mk2 2door for 500 also and yes diesel....funny thing I have an aaz short block in the barn hehehe

Tyler, You where almost right about the Jetta. I never even got 1 tank of gas in it and I sold it this morning and bought a 97 MK3 AAZ...At least its got AC lol.
