Ha Ha, Just found this thread. I bought this motor. I was just doing a search on doing an "ac delete" when it came up.

Motor is clean! great shape. Runs great, started it in the back of my truck when I got home.

It's my first VW. Now I want one for a DD! 8) This site is the best, has the most info. I went to wanting to know 100 things about this motor, to only 2 at this time.  ;D

Hey, good to hear from you! That engine looked really clean on the auction... What are you putting it into?

Do you live around the Poconos?

The motor is going into a rock crawler. going to be backed by a toyota trans with double transfercases. Full tube chassis, and chevy 1 ton axles. Thats why I wanted the AAZ, nice and basic, and easy to trouble shoot if needed on the trail.

Now that I've been reseaching it, I want a VW DD!

I'm near Scranton PA, not to far from the poconos. I grew up in Northern and central NJ.

Kinda doing the same thing here. I'm in the process of rebuilding an AAZ to put in my Suzuki Samurai. I also need to find the A/C delete bracket and pulley. I have an A/C pump if any ones interested!!
