like we have been saying, a direct injection head fits on a direct injection engine. even if its mechanical or electronic, it will still only bolt to a DI engine. if its mechanical and indirect injection, then it will fit on a 1.6 or an aaz.

so you need to determine if its direct or indirect injection. take a picture. we cant look at your thoughts. lol.

AHU is a TDI engine code, so it will not work on an earlier indirect injection engine.

Probably the easiest way to look at this is to refer to the cutouts I linked to in post #2.

The IDI head has metal inserts that form a pre-combustion chamber... the nozzle squirts fuel into the pre-combustion chamber in the head which burns and pushes out the hole in the prechamber... down goes the piston.

The TDI has no pre-combustion chamber... fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber formed  by depressions in the piston.

So the heads are totally different and the pistons are total different... and the fuel pump is totally different.

most of those godly turbos they came with bolt right on our engines. i think my VNT is pretty godly compared to all my other turbos. i have seen it put out over 35 psi, and it didnt explode. i bet a t/3 or k24 would explode at those boost levels.
