Good times at waterfest! Lots of driving put over 1500 miles on the jetta this wknd. Filled up 3 times and still have fuel left. But the clutch gave it up 3 hours from home. Won't disengage, so i limped it all the way home. Other than that it did great. Cruised 70-80 the whole way across Pa I-80.l Hit a 3.5 mile down hill in neutral coasted at 65-70! Ran with a turbo beetle and a 1.8t golf in conneticut 80-90 mph runs for alot of it.
Went to a buddys in conneticut to pick up vw parts and the traffic sucked sat in stop and go for most of the trip on I94 in ct. Think thats what worked the clutch over. Had a buddy driving cause i cut my left foot.
Cut the *** out of my foot playing in the ocean. Not working the next 2 days because of it. And the clutch is screwed. Oh well it was fun cruisin.
Saw one diesel car at the strip of course i missed his run. The name of the owner was Andrew. It was a white golf with what looked to be twins underneath. Andy_2? Never saw the driver to talk to him.
Whew! long wknd. Got home 7:00 am this morning. We need to get a big diesel meet together.

There weren't many diesels there, a couple TDIs but not diesel lovers. Need to find a place close for everyone. There are a lot of people from canada and the upper east coast area. The only prob is needing a passport now at the border. I have one but most people don't. And there are a couple guys out west too.

We should organize something like "Westies at Watkins"... Watkins Glen in New York; VW vans, campers & trucks, (all VWs welcome, though). They camp for the weekend and on Sunday do some laps on the racetrack! Happens towards the end of September.
http://www.westies-at-watkins.org/Be nice to do something like that with the Diesel crowd.
... although I guess we could just crash the party

Yes that was me.We only decided to bring the car down the day before waterfest so there was little time for notice. However I do have a video of the fastest and only run on sunday 14.0 @ 103 mph.
http://andy2turbo.multiply.com/video/item/1/P7190403.AVII put a thread up on TDI club about it yesterday.
