I have access to info concerning two (2) vintage turbos, from 1984 up MK1 turbodiesels.
The one that came with the engine that I am rebuilding is in good shape but I do not know how to test. There is no lateral or axial movement on the shafts at all. I am including the info pulled from the original K24 and the secondary Garrett T3.
First turbo
K24 VW# 068 145 703
82 956 0276
S/N 5324 970 6081
cast# 230284
---------------------------
Second turbo
Garrett T3 VW#068 145 703 F
GAP# 465384-5 T3
SN# 0K 381 9A
---------------------------
No heavy plans, just want a turbo in a caddy as economically as possible.

Sorry NoSurrenderAG for the "weird" post, but I went back to where I saw the reference and discovered that the author was promoting his product, a brand new K24 turbo and talking down about "rarity" of the K24 & Garrett T3 turbos. I should have known, better. Got to keep everything I read in the proper context.
