'93 GOLF PART OUT--FREE PARTS
« on: July 03, 2009, 11:46:24 am »
Figured that would get everyone's attention haha.  Now for the bad news--I'm keeping the engine and all related parts, down pipe, air box, trans, rad, some electrical items, and much of the front suspension and steering.  The good news is I'm giving away the seats, doors, hood, hatch, bumpers, dash, glove box, centre console, etc.  Car is white ext/black int with party cloth seats.  Body is fairly rusty but doors and hatch are repairable with a little work.  Pick up in Linday, ON, which is 1 1/2 north of Toronto.

I know this offer is not too exciting but I'd rather give this stuff to someone who could use it than send it for scrap.

Rear springs are weak I remember...rear end would sag pretty bad with a heavy load.  Struts are good though.  Think I'm gonna keep the axle beam.

'93 Golf would be a mk3, right? If so, how's the steering wheel look and does it have airbags?

[edit] Whoops, didn't notice that it seems you're pick-up only. Sorry.

how is the windshield?

It is a higher mileage car (368,000 km) so the windshield has normal pitting which is really only visible in direct sunlight.  Otherwise, it is not cracked or chipped and could be re-used.

I would ship, but I'm going to keep the steering wheel as a souvenir.  It doesn't have airbags and it's not in the greatest looking condition anyway.
