WTB: 1.9T motor & 5 speed trans (AAZ)
« on: June 26, 2009, 12:21:27 pm »
Looking for a complete AAZ 1.9T (oil pan to intake box) and the trans that came with her from an MK3 (I can source a trans separately if not available). Please email with details (mileage, condition etc). Pictures if available would be great. I am located in California but willing to pay freight (live near SFO, tons of trucking companies near by).

Well, canada may be a stretch on freight (and not sure if customs would give us any problems? They shouldnt...). For S&G's would you be able to quote what the freight might be? A guestimate would be fine..

I'm relying on some very old brain cells here but the last time I got a quote to ship an engine to the states from Ontario it was around $600cad

They were never imported into the USA, only Canada. So, we've got lots, and cheap (I've bought complete cars for $200).

I suggest taking the motor apart to ship. Otherwise there are couple of pain in the a.. EPA forms which need all kinds of personal and technical info. Send the block, then the head, then the turbo and all the rest . transmission will have to go on a skid.

I can pick up a running AAZ right now for 100$ still in the car ;D All I want is the tranmission lol

Hmm.. Anyone in west canada? I have family in north washington.....

So pretty much if I buy a motor out of canada it's cheap but the freight kills me, if I buy in the states its expensive but shipping is cheap... awesome. Still may be cheaper to purchase out of CA if someone wants to gimme a good deal  ;D

These guys want $2500 for an AAZ... cmon now I know for a fact I can source one for half if not less then that, with trans. Thank you for the tip but I cant fork out that much for an engine as much as I'd like to :(

I can run a turbo jet if I want it's smog exempt. The new diesel smog laws pertain to 1998 or newer only...  ;)
