egt probe thread?

while i have my manifold off i wanna tap it for an egt probe but i dont have the money for the probe yet. what is the most common size egt probe so that i can just tap it and plug it for now?

Most that I have seen are 1/8" NPT.

If you buy an aircraft spruce probe you can get either 1/4npt or 1/8npt, they only cost like 20-25 bucks.
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

Go 1/8" NPT as you can always go bigger, but once you see how big 1/8" NPT is you shouldn't want any bigger.

Yes you will like the Spruce thermocoule.  I think almost everybody gets the 1/8 one and it's faster acting too.  They're fun to watch just by themselve  I would never believed they worked that quick until I put mine in and saw for myself.
