my jetta was running very rough and blowing lots of smoke, I thought I needed to re-ring it.. but I thought I will run it low on vegie oil dump some ATF and kero and see what happens.

1gal of ATF/1gal vwo/1gal kero run that around the block shut car off
drive 30 miles to gas station and go to fill up with diesel notice holy heck the car is idling perfect (as it cools down) fill up drive it around till I have 2 gallons left stick another gallon of ATF in and beat it around the valley once and it's even smoother and quiter now than EVER.
ATF is known for its cleaning additives, just before doing an oilchange, add an extra liter (NOT ABOVE MAX, so drain a bit first) and drive at least 20 highway kms

unheated? Filtered how much? Is the motor oil a thinner/temp stabilizer ? :?:Or just more free fuel? I didn't think the Bosch pumps did so well on thick stuff, from what I have heard.

the WMO was thrown in to get rid of it, I burned synthetic and regular. It made it more difficult to start but usually got me better mileague once I got going.
My setup is nylon to filter out big junk, after letting jugs sit 3 days then let my home heating filter (home depot) which is felt and not paper based catch the rest cost $3.50 the paper version lowes/depot sells waxes too quickly.
I have run a minimum of 200 gallons of WVO this summer and most has been 100% in my tank unheated in central PA, car has started when it was 50F out with little problems (I have 2000CA though so)
Also background 285k on original short block, 130k on HG, Inj, and pump
now I am looking into getting a heated tank for the winter while still running a mix in my main tank probably 3gal veg to 7gal kero or whatever the most is I can run..
Home depot is my friend I currently have 130 gallons of kerosene I paid $1 a gal for when they clearanced it out (it's back at retail for the upcoming winter and since they got new shipments)

you put ATF in your Motor oil?
another thing I did once a month or so was go out take off the air filter and get my handy dandy spray bottle full of water and rev the motor up and spray in, let it rev down and do it again and again and again and again until I felt the motor had been steam cleaned.

you put ATF in your Motor oil?
Yes... to clean the inside of the engine, but don't drive too long or with more ATF than 1 liter in the motoroil.
ATF in the fuel is an old trucker's trick, used to be pretty standard, don't know if it really does much other than turn the fuel red! Dumping it in the engine oil slightly before the change used to be pretty common too, but if you change your oil regularly with a quality oil you'll never take the engine apart and find any deposits anyway.
More interested in straight wvo in the tank! Filtered and run at 100%? Amazing! Tempted to try a 10 or 20 % per tank, also wondered about waste motor oil, anyone try cleaning it with a water bath like the wvo biodiesel?

if you want to run used motor oil, i would suggest running it through a diesel fuel filter a couple times in a row before adding it to the tank, and i wouldnt add too much, maybe 5-10%.
also, used motor oil has alot of things in it that are bad for the enviroment when burned, but if you keep it to a low concentration, it shouldnt be any worse than driving behind an oil burner. with that said, im sure someone will chime in and try to discourage anyone from doing this.

you can let sombody heat their garage for free or you can go down the road.
Another possibility is that it will be used to make new asphalt (or at least heat it up) first rain it will run into the ground...
take your pick but personally I would rather go down the road and put it in the atmosphere, besides I am already running on vegie oil saving the environment... it should all balance out right? lol

get a water filter from lowes/depot one that goes to 5micron dump the stuff in a bucket with that filter in and let gravity do it's job should get out alot of "bad" stuff but of course it will make some decent polution.
what about wynn's engine oil cleaner?

ATF, years back, IIRC, was basically whale oil. Remember reading in school about the eskimo's using seal fat for lamp oil/candles? Same difference. (plus at the same time frame ATF was considered a skin-ailment cure-all)
Nowdays, ATF is NOT anything like it's older cousins. However, facts are facts, ATF is a high-detergent, low-viscosity lubricant. Whenever we get a vehicle in the shop that was neglected, crusty carbon buildup in the valve cover, thick nasty oil, etc., we'll drain the oil, leaving the filter, and refill to full with merc/dex atf. We crank it up, let it reach operating temp (ON JACKSTANDS, NOT DRIVING) and then drain it out and do a full oil change, with good quality oil (usu. castrol 20w-50, but that's in the warm south). It does what we want, gives everything a decent cleaning, helps re-animate some of the super-thick oil deposits, even helps break up the carbon, so that the new filter can do it's job. Due to it's low viscosity, I recommend that NOONE put it in their engine and drive around like that.
For fuel systems, again repeating myself, it's a low viscosity high-detergent lubricant. On older gasser vehicles, a quart or two added to a full fill-up at the pump would help quiet the noisy electro-fuel pumps, give the tank a bit of a cleaning, lube up the carb's internals, help de-funk the valves, etc. The same can be done on gassers by using two-stroke oil (outboard oil). I've done as high as 40:1 ratio w/o any smoke.
For diesels, It basically has the same effect. I think someone has already stated, that a diesel could run off of just strait ATF, that's true. Cost keeps me from doing that, and depending where you are in the world, the color isn't a good thing either. Got hit one night crossing the LA/TX line by Texas DOT, and they swabbed my rabbit (which I didn't think they could do, because my vehicle wasn't a commercial rig with a DOT registration) and I had about two gallons of recycled atf in the tank, so the swab came up red, and they accused me of tax-evasion, using off-road (agricultural/marine) diesel. Needless to say, they didn't even write me a ticket, just hassled me real heavy, plus I had another couple of gallon jugs of old atf in the trunk.
As a every-tank fill-up additive, I think it's a waste of money. But every couple of tanks, sure, throw a quart or two in before you fill it up with fuel. It mixes very well with both diesel and gasoline, and even at over two gallons mixed with a full tank of diesel, I've never produced exhaust smoke. However, when poured directly down the carburator of a running v8, it will mosquito-fog and entire county!!
