I did a search on this topic put the results did not pertain to my situation. Ok, My little golf is having other isues that some may be reading about but I have bandaid fixed it for now.
However, I am now losing coolant when I drive at (or try to keep up with) highway speed. There's no coolant in the oil. No drops of coolant on the ground after beeing parked. No white smoke. Last week when I changed th oil I saw one droplet on the head of a bolt on the passenger side of the underneith of the rad. Possible reasons anyone? :?
Thanks in advance

A leaky fillcap can be the problem too... listen if it makes any noise after a drive.
When you see white smoke you have a BIG leak, small leaks can leak noticable water but doesn't show white smoke out the back.
So no smoke doesn't mean no crack or hole. What would be the most effective way to check while keeping the cost down (doing it myself is prefered) I was told that a pressure check would pin point the problem but would cost at least $100. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Greg
A coolingsystem pressurecheck doesn't cost $100,- AFAIK.. I think even the tool doesn't costs that much.
Pressurize the system and let it sit overnight an check the car again, no coolant on the floor means coolant in the cylinders/oil.
How do I presurize the cooling ststem?
Thanks
