WTD: US Spec Parts
« on: June 17, 2009, 08:29:45 am »
Hi all who read this. I'm UK based and have a mk2 golf but really to source a set of US pre 90 spec 'Small' Bumpers and Irons for my car which are deeper than UK type and have no plate recess.

I'd also like a set of the 'Bananna' markers that go the front wings (Fenders across the pond?) that i believe you use a running lights or side repeaters - not really sure just like the look.

Also i'd love to find a 'Westmoreland' front end  - complete lights, slam panel and grill in good condition.

I appreciate the shipping won't be cheap etc but i'm sick of searching the uk and ebay for these parts so though i'd ask my new freinds across the pond!!

If anyone has these parts and would be interested in shipping to the UK please let me know.

Wow, that's funny that you guys want our stuff and we want your stuff.  The first thing most Mk2 owners do is throw all of that stuff in the trash.  :P

I just got rid of the Westy front end on the wife's car for a proper euro single-round w/ H4's and city-lights.

What annoys me even more are the vendors in the States that bring over euro stuff and charge millions of dollars for them.  I mean, $450 for used Corrado headlights???  $1000 for a set of Scirocco bumpers????  Insane.

Good luck though, wish I could help you out.

When you say westy front end, do you mean the square lights or the rectangular ones?

Wow, that's funny that you guys want our stuff and we want your stuff.

the grass is always greener on the other side  ;D plus the need to be "different."

it'd be cool to have a collective swap of Euro and US parts but man would that be a PITA!!!

whats PITA?

and yes - lets start doing some swaps.  tell me what bits you guys need that are UK spec - headlights, slam panels, wings etc

seats and dashboards and interior trim possible as well.

or if someone has a rot free GTD US spec they want to sell me and ship over complete maybe??

cheers for that cyrus - but it wouldn't be that bad - i have a garage full of UK stuff i can ship - and if you guess can source these parts from breakers etc or locally as people don't want them no one needs to have a car off the road.

i can looking shipping lights and bumpers etc on pallets or however you want really.

do you want good used parts or new? genuine or pattern as prices will vary!

feel free to PM me and i'll let you know.

we can start small with lights etc to prove system works and move on to bigger parts like slam panels and bumpers if people prefer.
