M-tdi tuning - injector upgrade & max fuel screw adj
« on: May 29, 2009, 12:08:22 pm »
So on the IDI its all about the max fuel screw to find more hp. TDI tuners talk about injector upgrades & chip tuning for more fuel but what about the mtdi where we can change nozzles & have the max fuel screw too monkey with?

The reason I ask is my sprint 520 loaded injectors were stolen yesterday & it got me thinking about the .185 set I have & where I could get with the max fuel screw. I know its about where you want to get hp wise but some discussion on the subject would be great!!

i'm not sure, but i think if you put a 12mm head with those dinky small pee hole nozzles, you'll make some decent power.  the larger nozzles are good because they usually have more orifices to spray the fuel, and achieve a better atomization. sorry for your loss on those great nozzles  :( lord have mercy on the soul who has taken these, if you ever got your hands on him...  :o

messing with the fuel screw will help, but theres a fine line between more power and just a bunch of smoke  ;D  i think going too wild will start messing with the internal pressure of the pump too.. but could be wrong.

some one stole your injectors... ??? I have a mental picture of you going out to start your car and nothing happening, when you pop the hood nothings there. That cant really be what happened. Anyway besides the chip tuning, the paths are very similar. Larger pump, bigger injectors, larger tubo intercooler. In my opinion a mtdi should be easier to produce max hp on as your not having to constantly mess with reprogramming the computer. Anyway my two cents

Naw, they were on the floor & someone slim jimmed my door, grabbed them, looked right, saw the 100lb beast in the back of my van & took off. I was taking them to get balanced & set to 220 bar. Too bad the old boy isn't the dog he used to be, he would have taken a piece of the frikkin guy...
