Donations for the forum
« on: May 25, 2009, 02:32:27 pm »
Hi guys,

I got emails from peoples that wanted to donate to the forum but didn't know how. The best way is
via paypal. Here's the paypal address :

Code: [Select]
[email protected]
Just a little reminder that ANY donation is appreciated. All donations are used to pay forums fees ( hosting, DNS )
and to upgrade hosting plan if needed. I want to keep this forum free of ads or excessive banners.

TIA.

Marc/

Hi Marc,
Thanks so much for this forum, by-the-way.  It is awesome.  I will keep this in mind as I seek to help.  Thank the others also for a great forum.  I uhh, f :-\inally read the general questions (you know don't read the directions but go straight to the pictures kind of guy) and they have some great information.  Thanks for that also.

Suggestion:

How about we start a section in the for sale area where the procedes go to the site for support?

Example:

I have a extra pulley, intake valve, etc...
List it in the forum supoport thread.
Pay pal info would be for the forum.--RR
Still have to fugure out the shipping aspect.

Comments on idea improvment?

I like the idea...  Although from the logistical standpoint it may be easier to do it for say just a week.. Sort of like a fund raising garage sale??  I suppose the easiest way to handle things as far as shipping would be to pay the seller, and then the seller makes the donation..  I hate the idea of Paypal getting fees twice though....  Do they have a "feeless" donation option???

No Fee Paypal

If both parties in the transaction have Non-Business / Non-Merchant accounts
= Yes

Payment option - Personal
Type of payment - Other

I've got some pieces that a fellow VW Dieseler sort of gave me - that neither of us need. Told him i would split proceeds if/when i could sell them. I'm sure he would be happy for the proceeds to benefit the forum.

Maybe the items could be offered as semi-auction.

Excellent!!   I kinda like the bid idea..   To keep traffic and clutter to a minimum maybe we could do one thread in the For Sale section..  People participating post up their wares, all bids/questions can be handled via PM...   When the item is gone, edit the post stating so...
