11mm Mega head gasket woes
« on: May 21, 2009, 08:50:50 pm »
Well it all started about 2 weeks ago, (right about the same time the forum went down) when i was just checking under the hood, and saw that the hg was seeping oil from the front, right where the galley from the block to the head is. I'm running a fiber hg and new head bolts, toqured to 90nm (66ft-lbs). So GTD forumless i went ahead and ordered arp 11mm head studs which should be here tomorrow. with a gasket that is already leaking do you think studs could seal it up? If not is the next step a MLS? If so what are the instructions on using one on a 1.5L block and head? I remember seeing something about having to seal up part of the central drain on the front?? Any advice would be great!!!     Thanks Cambo

if your fiber gasket is leaking studs will never stop it ....once the fiber gaskets leak they are done...ask me how i know..hehe
you need a new HG MLS or fiber...I would go MLS if you like more then stock boost.

Dang!!! I was afraid of that... Then that moves me to the other part of my question.... How do you seal up the front drain hole?

there are a few different ways to seal it up...this is what I did. the other methods are way cheaper.but I feel the custom MLS is more reliable.
