Which direction do heat shields go?
« on: September 05, 2005, 12:49:32 pm »
I'm putting my injectors back in, and I have forgotten which way the heat shields go.  I can't find any answers on a search - I think I remember being told that the cone faces the injector (pointy side up), but I want to make sure as it's a holiday and the local shop is closed.  Thanks !

OK, I'm confused.  When I fit the shield to the injector with the pointy end up, it seats against the nozzle center and there's a slight gap between the outside of the shield and the body of the nozzle.  If i flip it over, pointy side dow, I get a gap between the nozzle and hole of the shield.  That doesn't seem right -

Never mind - I looked in my Bentley and got it straightened out.
