Coolest thing I ever saw was a Datsun 240Z with a Datsun 6 cyl diesel in it. All stock Datsun parts. Cool but wierd. Cheers Dan

What about using an Audi Quattro transmission and not use the front drive flanges?  You could use the driveshaft and independant rear suspension.

I've always wanted to build a rear wheel drive fox this way.

i wonder if you can get the conversion kit for the 1.6 to fit up to a Zuk (tracker) trans and the shove the tracker trans into the VW
