I am moving forward with my twincharge project as the supercharger finally came in!!!

I am initially going to run it with the K24 I already have just for proof of concept, but will probably want to replace the turbo after a while as my K24 is tired.

I am looking at getting a big turbo, as the supercharger will be taking care of the low end, I really don't think i need much out of the turbo until after 3000RPM.

that and the supercharger will help in generating enough exhaust gas to spool a big turbo.

I am also planning to spin the motor to 6000RPM and have the supercharger make 12PSI as soon as it can(a G60 with no boost return should do it close to idle)

anyone have any idea what would be a good size turbo?
T3 super 60?

oh yeah, and I am looking at getting 20-ish PSI out of the turbo at full boost.

the project is going to wait until the fall, I am going to dutch harbor for the summer to work.

I will pst some pics when I pull the G60 charger apart.

I am trying to gather all the info I can so I can have the parts I need waiting to start the project when I come back.

any ideas on turbo sizing?

I am leaning toward the T3 super 60.

they are pretty common among the turbo upgrade crowd and are therefore easy to come by for reasonable prices(even new)

they seem to be a little out of range for the 1.6 motor, which is good because it will have the supercharger to help spool it.

I have not been able to find a turbo map for one that was helpful, the only ones I can find have the flow axis poorly labelled in a unit that is unhelpful.
does anyone have a good map for a super 60?
or info about the flow requirements of the 1.6 motor in the same units as the turbo map that would be cool

well, I found a better map for the T3 super 60 and re did some of my math.

if the supercharger puts out 1 Bar(which isnt too far out of the ballpark) then the engine will be consuming twice its displacement every two revolutions.

some rough math later thats 20 Lbs/min of air sucked through the supercharger into the motor.

so looking at the map at 20-ish psi @ 20 lbs/min of flow that puts the super 60 close to the surge line, but not too far out of its efficient range(probably wouldn't support more than 20-25PSI happily

I think I am going to try to find a super 60 for cheap and try it out after the supercharger is rebuilt.
