got a second old diesel and found this site

Just got a second rabbit diesel and found this site while looking for info.
The car is an 84 with a rebuilt NA 1.6 engine installed by the PO.  The car has significantly less power than my other 84, and doesn't smoke at all even at WOT.  The pump looks like it is from a salvage yard and has electrical limit switches on both the maximum rev stop and and on the idle end with all the wires cut and dangling, before I try to turn up the fuel setting or anything else I hoped that someone could confirm if this is a correct pump for this engine?

The info plate on the pump has

My other 84 (much faster with a little smoke at WOT)

has a different layout on the data plate

So I thought I ask before fooling around.

Sounds like your pump is off a car with an upshift light. That's what the electrical bits are for. Just turn up the max fuel screw sounds like all your car needs.
