This may sound stupid but what do i need and what do i have to do to setup a boost gauge?
You need a "T" fitting 3.5mm diameter, a knife, some vacuum line and a boost guage.
You T into the line ontop of the valve cover (from the intake manifold to the top of the injection pump) and run it to your boost guage. You will also need to run power to get the guage to light up when you turn the lights on.

There is mine. I made one out of brass fittings.
I still need to drill and tap the intake though. it's temporarily JB'd to the rubber hose for now. Using stock intake & parts you shouldn't need to do that though.

Smokey Eddy's set up looks like the way I originally had mine set up, it worked fine but caused a lot of needle chatter. Drove me nut's!
For a short term solution until I get the proper "T" fitting I did the el-cheapo melt the end of the "T" fitting method - still chatters a bit but nothing like it did before.
i just have ultra small air line going to my boost gauge. and the gauge its self does not chatter on my setup. but the gauge also has a tiny orifice on the inlet. maybe its to smooth out the pressure reading, like as to get rid of the pulses in the air? and any chatter/vibrations i have, go away right after i bring the engine up off idle.
I have a boost/vac gauge just because that was what they had in the rack at Princess Auto...
Tells you when your air filter needs to be changed and it doesn't chatter since there's no stop at the zero
I tapped the elbow on the intake manifold and installed a brass fitting for the boost guage line, works very smooth and is out of the way and won't blow off or leak.

the area inside that hose is SO minimal. The pressure inside the small lines is insignificant.
It's the same reason why higher CFM is much better than higher pressures.
PS. I don't get any needle chatter what so ever EXCEPT for cold mornings. I'd use my brass over a plastic T any day

yea, thats what i was talking about. the one all JB welded together. not poking any fun at it or anything, i just didnt actually think it would hold boost. i didnt know that could be a valid temporary use of JB weld.
