I got two new drive shafts each with 2 cv's on them.

They are EMPI.

I dont want to wreck knew parts i spent almost 200$ on. What kind of power/launching can they take? ... will my clutch give up before they do?

what is to say they wont break like the clakity clack buzz buzz BWAAAWWW cv's i have in the car right now?

I wouldnīt be worried. Iīve used old cv:s that i have found from garage and never had any problems. Lotīs of second gear launches and burnouts 8) Scirocco has 100mm inner joints and stock ī74 outers, 02A gave up first. Inner joint bolts have broke too. Audi had stock 90mm axles and not any kind of problems.

I treat CV joints as annual maintenance items.  Every year i take them out, dissassemble and clean them.  New boots, new grease, and off we go for another year.  If their loose, I toss them.  If I find a turn boot, they get extra scrutiny in the dissassembly.  If the show any issues, out they go too.  Never had a problem with them in service.

I have broken lots of CV's on lots of different cars, usually its contamination or too high an angle that kills them, if they are well lubed(with CV grease, nothing else), the boots are intact and they are not asked to turn at an angle too far out of spec, they should stand up to lots of power.
