I have to move my P/S reservoir to the other side of the engine bay (mk1 golf). The 2 pipes (with crimped ends on the rack side) are fine but the reservoir to pump pipe is too short. It's just held by clamps. There's no pressure in the line.
Well I can't find anybody willing to provide this pipe. I've tried auto spare parts places, farm/agriculture places and hydraulic specialists, scrapyards (never the right length). I only need 2m or a bit less.
Nobody seems to want to supply the line because it's on a car "safety" element or because the power steering liquid is corrosive ...
Apart from manufacturing an "extension" steel pipe an cutting the original tubing to hoock up both ends any bright ideas ?
What are the specs for a power steering hydraulic line?

stoped at a big truck garage, the sold me 2 m of power steering tube from a Renault truck
issu resolved.

Heh, then you'll be mad at me. I'm
adding
power steering to my Scirocco when I go TDI. My '84 was fine with manual steering, it had stock size tires. My '81 had wider, sticky tires, and the power steering was rough at best. Fine while moving, but it was hard to pull it out of the driveway. I figure, I'll be going even WIDER on the tires and putting a heavier engine in the front, I'm gonna need it.

:lol: I know some would say exercise your arms and problem resolved :lol:
but I don't know if you have tried manouvering a caddy in a tight spot ... that's what decided me :oops:

The cost and hassle of power steering is probably less than the cost of seeing an osteopath every six months. :wink:
Why would I be looking for a set of narrower wheels? :roll:
