Compressor wheel replacement and selection
« on: April 14, 2009, 03:53:10 pm »
As you know, I just received two garrett gt2056v turbo's that came off of the new jeep CRD.  One was damaged in shipping, backing plate and compressor wheel were damaged.  I have found a location that has the correct replacement parts.  So here is the question.  Do I stay with the original compressor wheel:
Inducer               41.5mm
Exducer              56.0mm
Trim                   55
Tip width             5.5mm
Total hub length   29.3mm
No. of blades        6 / 6 split
Wheel style          S / Back

Or go with a slightly smaller wheel.  The wheel is being replaced so all options are open.  It is going on a 1.6/1.9 combo.
What do you think?
By the way, I have found two places that have all the components and kits for vnt rebuilds.
