Cleaning hard lines?

I don;t even shoot the ether into the intake..  I spray it perpendicular to the inlet of the air box..

Like libbybapa said, it's really not worth it..  At least most of the time..  last time I sprayed the little b&$ch it was 38 deg, raining, and dark..  If it made it the 8 miles home it coulda bust into flames after that for all I cared...

Propane is a little better...  Once again better suited for DI diesels, but crap happens..

I second that crap happens. But i too would avoid using propane or ether at almost all costs.

The pre-cups, especially on the AAZ's, don't like propane or ether...
so i've been told.

yes, tried it. my engine didnt like it. the propane thing is what ive found to work best. the second best option is the 1500* heat gun pumping hot air into the intake. works just like an intake air heater on a dodge.. not quite as efficient as glows.. but it works in a pinch when your glows go out at yours or someone elses house.

So... yeah the engine kicked violently with ether. But we hooked the car up to a industrial battery charger with a start function, and kept cranking with all the lines cracked and it finally started.

Same story as before, though. When you crack number 1 on the injector side, no spray. Open on the pump side.. barely a sneeze. My dad has a vanagon 1.6td that's low milage from Germany. I'm thinking about swapping the IP, what do you guys think? Would a crappy/clogged injector play a role in this?

wow, so im not the only one who uses propane. another thing i like about propane.. is that it doesnt dissolve the oil off the walls of the cylinder.

Yeah, propane is much better. It is used as an accelerant to the diesel fuel on high output engines.
