10 Pounds of boost and 1100 degree EGTs

Well put on a new Giles pump timed it to .85 per his instructions and started our 1900 mile journey and did fine until the last 150 miles. I was going down a steep grade and once i got back on the flats i noticed that i could hardly put my foot in it and the egts were through the roof. I used to pull 13 pounds and be able to stay there awhile but now by the time the boost builds its at like 1300 or so. I figured it jumped a tooth of time as it did before. but everything is still spot on. So at this point i'm lost. it doesn't act like it lost an injector but theres no way to tell without pulling them and testing. So any input would be great
Thanks, Cambo

no i can still pull full boost which is 13, but i can barely hit it cause it spikes my egts up so fast, its in the high 1300's and low 1400's in no time. But thats what gets me, it changed all at once.

It might be a small enough boost leak that it can still get there but takes more heat to do it.

'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.
I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

Hmmm.... good point, i'll have to investigate that. In thinking about it, it does make sense something coulda come loose when i was pulling the grade and i may have not noticed it. Thanks fellers! i hope that is the issue
