noob 1st post--hello!
« on: March 14, 2009, 07:19:41 am »
Hi all. I'm going to pick up my td motor this weekend (unknown year-apx 60k miles-been sitting on a shelf for many years.) I want to get all the pieces together before I do the swap. Its my commuter car so I want the downtime to be as short as possible. So the questions begin...

Motor mounts: I was reading other posts-I prefer the quieter ride-what kind+ where to get them?

Clutch: I dont plan on making 150hp-but I know I'll end up turning up the boost-what steetable combo should i run to keep things engaged?

Exhaust pipe: I'm making a 2.5" system with a Flowmaster muffler I have kicking around. What do you use for a gasket between the flange + turbo-and where do you get it?

 Thanks for the help!   :)

Welcome aboard!
I will try and thanks for reading some and having a general knowledge before your post.
Motor mounts the stock should work for you.

Clutch I think the stock should work, but an upgrade is the 16v pressure plate and flywheel if you are interested.

Ex Pipe if it is where I am thinking factory had nothing there. You should be able to lap the 2 surfaces together and get a seal.

Check Myke_W as a vendor and mod. for parts and the entire vendors section. I also sometimes use arizona autohaus www.autohausaz.com
Finally most importantly
In general don't listen to me

There are guys like Vince Waldon that know way more than me...heck his initials are VW
