i recently changed my throttle cable in an attempt to cure my fueling problems, and now it would seem that the bung where the cable comes into the footwell (coloured plastic piece) keeps working its way out of the hole and is holding the throttle open.

has anyone had this problem and if so, how did you cure it?

 Cheers,

I believe I'd JB weld it in place or cut it out and *** can it and put some duct tape around the hole to keep the air and noise out before you get hurt.

Having looked up the definition of "*** can", your post seems a tad sarcastic.
