I installed a new filter relocation kit on the truck and when i started up something blocked a passage or something. It started a quiet sqeel then it screeched and froze.Ive got oil in the sump, oil lines are correct. The turbo want getting oil either which doesnt make sense. If it was a block in the filter housing under the truck the wouldnt the oil still get to the turbo,or the block for that matter.sshhhhiii*****.crap,maybe a tdi now.or new short block.

Sure the damage isn't maybe just at the cam bearings. at least it may not be the whole motor.

Ouch that sucks. I almost had something similar happen to my gasser yesterday except it was my fault. Left one of the blanks on the top of the oil filter off and it pissed out nearly all my oil. Was only idling for 10secs so i pray its ok.

Man, I thought I had a bad weekend !!!!! Big Donkey indeed !!! Sorry man.

I was driving a mk1 with 1.6NA and the filter burst... no buzzer. Ran until it siezed. An hour later, I replaced the filter, added oil, and it started right up. Put another 50K miles on it before selling..

So, have you tried to turn it over now that it has sat (with the oil filter back in original location) ???

I did the same on mine but caught it before it seized. The engine started slowing down before I realized I hooked up the relocation lines backwards. I do think I hurt the turbo though..

We once had a customer who had had his 16V scirocco  stolen but then recovered. He asked us to try to destroy the engine so the car would be a write-off. My service manager told me to dump the oil, run it till it seized. Well i did that, let it idle, went to get a coffee. came back buzzer going lifters getting noisy. stood there waiting for drama....nothing . Stared revving it ,and revving and revving. 20 minutes went by. i asked the manager what he wanted to do. He told me bring a quarter for the phone and go drive it.Went for a drive, for an hour, winding it up to 6500 every shift. Went back, refilled the oil and gave it back to customer. It took about 2 minutes for the lifters to stop clacking. We saw him drive it for another 6 months as if nothing happened.

Yeah dumping the coolant would have done it. We figured we had done enough damage for one day.
