there was a guy trying to put a 1.6 pump on a 1.9 motor and this is what giles said, sorta applies to you I'd guess:

hey
you should set you pump timing to .95mm much better.

why are you not using the AAZ pump? you won't be able to use
your 1.6L pump because the mounting bracket is the wrong size
unless you change that one too.

the fueling curve is all wrong with the 1.6L pump too.
if you have the 1.9L pump use that .

1997 was the year for the split two piece timing gear.

the pump is physically longer, and will require using the 1.9 inj sprocket.  maybe even require the 1.9 mounting bracket, but modify it a little?  the injector lines will have to be bent a bit as well.  it should work ok.  apparently the 1.6 bracket can be modified to use with the 1.9 pump, but i dont know what has to be modified.  should be fairly obvious once you try to put the two together though.

it was more to wiring  i was concerned about, other than the black wire there are 4 (iirc) other wires. when the engine was still in the old car to see if they were important i cut and started the car, it was fine but the rev counter didn't work, i cut the other 2 and it wouldn't start so i'm guessing these 2 are important, but what do they do and is thee any way around this?
